I've been using Myspace for my blogging....because I forgot how to log into my acct here!...I finally jumped through all of the right hoops to get this one set up again! It's been quite awhile since I have posted on this site...L I F E...got in the way. I have found another place to blog too. So I guess this will soon turn into my shop blog, and I will just bore all of you out there with the every day happenings in the store.

We just had another Girls Night out on the square, it was good for business as usual. It's been written about in the local papers and one magazine...and that is just the beginning. I went by the hospital yesterday morning for my free flu shot, and it didn't hurt a bit. But as the day went on my arm started getting really sore, and now I have a big knot in my arm...ouch! Every year i say that I'm not going to get it again, because I always end up sick right after it. So far this year is no different, I am sure that the 13 hour work day yesterday didn't help matters any. My feet are still tired from standing on concrete floors in heels all day and night. Sales are starting to look up, and Christmas is on it's way yeah!!!

Yesterday I went by the Police station to check on the status of my case. They think that they caught the jerk that tried to break in. So that makes me feel a lot better! I won't be letting my guard down anytime soon though. Another slow week at the shop....were are the people spending their money? Some of my best costumers have been in lately, and they have been spending about half as much as usual???? I can't wait until people start Christmas shopping.

Still can't sleep.

I am shaking from the inside out... I don't want to try to go to sleep. What if that bad person comes back? I had just started feeling more at ease since the guys tried to break in upstairs a couple of years ago. Now I will be sleeping cuddled up with my shotgun and pistol again. The police keep coming by with search lights, the light crawls from one side of the room to the other, and then disappears. I don't feel safe. My insides are quivering like jello.

Well, the art festival was going to be what I blogged on next, but instead... someone just tried to break in. The Police have come and gone and I am shaking. I was sleeping upstairs and heard bells and a thump...I assumed it was Rico my shop cat, and tried to fall back to sleep, then I heard it again, and again... Twiggy started barking her head off so I figured I had better check on things. I was half way down the stairs when I realized it was the back door,and not the front. As I opened the stairway door I saw the back doors moving, someone was on the other side trying to bust the door in. I grabbed my pistol that I had left by the stairs from walking Twiggy, and looked out the side window. Meanwhile, Twiggy was trying to get to the guy on the other side of the door. I saw him turn and walk away he was wearing a Navy Blue Hoodie, white gloves, and jeans. I ran to call the police I was shaking so bad, I could feel every beat of my heart. It took so long for them to get there, but even if it had only been 5 minutes I think it would have seemed like an hour.
I am so creeped out.

You can almost hear the hum of busy little artists around town. I can feel the energy building as the art festival gets closer! I walked off the spaces for the booths today, and found that the map I was given is incorrect. So I have more spaces to rent, which is good and bad. I don't want any empty spaces, I want the square packed- so more work to fill it up...ughh.

The day is finally coming to an end, Saturdays are always busy. I have stayed up a little too late working on art for next Saturday, but I hate to stop. It's so nice when everything starts coming together. I finally stopped to slow down and check my mail...and blog. It is so nice to have this new medium to express myself. And then there is Flickr...geeze I could waste days, weeks, years... just being inspired by all of the eye candy. Yeah tomorrow is Sunday! I get to sleep in, well...until Twiggy demands to go for her walk, but at least I have the luxury of going back to bed. I guess it's time to call it a night. so sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite(that's such a creepy saying when you think about it).

Now I am counting down the days 'til the art festival....one week tomorrow. I hope that everything goes smoothly. This year will not be very big, but I do have 20 booths rented out...so fingers crossed. It will be nice to have a little break in between functions, so far I just have two events for October. This next week I will be scrambling to finish up all of my projects....eeeeek. I'm getting stressed, but it's good stress.

Reverse it." -Willy Wonka I was planing on going to the Dallas Market today to see what the latest trends were and to buy samples...but I don't think it is going to happen. I didn't get much sleep last night-sort of a growing habit I've started again. So today I feel like rubbish and my head feels fuzzy.

Too many blue days lately...I need to pull myself out of this "blahness" In between working and feeling blah, I discovered a new place to go junkin'. This is an amazing place packed full of treasures and they are all sooooo cheap! I think that I might survive being in business for myself after all, now that I have a source for good treasures. The Art Festival is 13 days away now.....and so many people are going to set up!!!!! I am so excited, next year it will be even better. Last night the new bronze by Bob Summers was unveiled on the square- amazing!

I actually got a sneak peek the night before when they moved the sculpture in with a crane, and Bob was there (he is really nice!). So now I have a huge bronze to enjoy when I walk Twiggy around the square. My little ray of sunshine is back in my life- she has lived a hundred lifetimes over the last year. I think she is the closest I have ever come to having a sister, I love her so much. It is nice to have so many good people in my life.

I know, I know....long time no blog. Well, I can't really think of a good excuse, and I'm sorry.
It has been a rainy summer here in Texas, flooding, green grass, flowers, and cool weather. Now we are starting to reach the triple digits... grass is getting crunchy, you are drenched in sweat as soon as you get in the car...ahhh the joys of Summer. My shop is doing great and I have my new Caldrea products coming in this week!!! Girl's Night Out on the Square is a hit!!! Everyone has been amazed that I pulled it off, and it gets better every month! Every third Saturday of the month all of the shops on the square stay open until 9:00. We all have special sales, refreshments (like wine), and snacks.

Today is cleaning day...laundry, floors, and windows. I am so happy with myself I finally dug my hole for my pond. So now I have a sunken pond/ fountain in my garden behind the shop. Yesterday I tied up all of my vines in order to encourage them to climb up the porch posts. So far I have trumpet and grape vines that have come up on their own. And my morning glory vines are finally starting to pop up, so it won't be long until they start perkin' up my garden. It felt so good to get my hands in the dirt, I had forgotten how good it makes you feel. My kitty cats are doing so good, they are great mommies. All of the kittens have their eyes open now, and Witchie Poo's babies are starting to want to get out of their basket. By the end of this week they should be exploring more, but for now they are still pretty wobbly.

I have been blessed with Babies! Yesterday Witchie Poo brought me four presents...she came into the shop and placed four kittens under the Christmas tree (yes, I have a Christmas tree up in my shop...Christmas trees aren't just for Christmas here). The kittens are huge! And they all look just like their mommy! So now I have 10 cats in my bathrooms 5 in the Men's and 5 in the Ladies. Happy Furry Mother's Day to me! I am totally dreading giving them away...sighhhhh. I will be posting pics of them on my flickr account...after I catch up with posting vacation pics.

Exciting news! Kittens, kittens, and more kittens... they are so perfect! Stripey kitty had her kittens the other night. One is solid black...Coal, One is tortoise colored...Turtle, One is grey stripes with white mittens and chin...Milky, and One is a grey tortoise named Patty. I still haven't seen Witchie poo's kittens. She has them hidden away under a storage building for the restaurant next door. Lulu my parent's cow had her first calf the day after I left for my trip. I missed out on all of the Spring babies being born! I had a great trip, exhausting...but fun. It is so nice to be home and surrounded by all of my four legged friends.

Geeze, I've been busy! My alley cat finally had her kittens, but I haven't seen them yet. I went to California and had a blast! I love it there, but it is very nice to be back home. I missed my pets, friends, family, and shop soooo much. I am still trying to get used to the time change, it should be better in a couple of days. I have so much work to do! Lots of catching up!

It's been snowing all day! This is Texas right? All of the bluebonnets are getting sprinkled with snow. All of the Easter Egg Hunts in town have been canceled or postponed. I got a few minutes of sleep last night, and I probably won't get much more tonight. Witchie Poo still hasn't had her kittens...from everything I have read this is normal. I can't wait to see the new arrivals! No telling what they will look like, but no doubt totally cute. If you are wondering how Witchie Poo came by her name...it is the Witch from Puff n Stuff...don't know what that is look here: http://www.billiehayes.com/index.html She is an orange, yellow & white striped cat with Witchiepoo eyes (white outlined circles). I will be posting some pics of her soon.

My alley cat is in labor! She has been spending a lot more time in the shop lately. Since the weather has been nice I've been keeping the doors open. She usually just visits, and then goes back out to her nest in the tree behind the shop, but this last week she has been very clingy. Finally this afternoon she was being even more affectionate and demanding so I fixed up the downstairs bathroom for her. She has been staying in there every once in awhile with Stripey kitty. I kept them both in there several nights last week when people were filming a movie on the square. Tonight when I took Twiggy for her walk Stripey kitty followed us around, and wanted to come in, but I thought it would be best for the "Mommy to be" to be left alone. Every time Witchie Poo hears the critters upstairs she starts growling...I have been reading everything I can find about cats in labor. Thank God for the Internet! I have never been present during a delivery of any creature except some chicks, but that's sooo different. This will be Witchie Poo's first litter, and I didn't even think she was prego! I was fixing to take her to the vet for worms...hmmmm. She started having a mucus discharge around 6:00 this evening, and so far everything I have read says that she should deliver within 24 hours of that. So far I have not gotten a lot of sleep...I am so tired, but very excited! So are the other animals they all know something big is happening! Twiggy is so wound up, you would think she was the one having the babies!

My ideas are blooming this spring. There are so many things that I want to make! Inspiration is everywhere...colors, textures.... Today I am going to plant some grass seeds in some vintage ceramic pots. I love fresh green grass, and so do my kitty cats! The grass won't stay pretty for long because they will munch it down in no time, but I am planting it for them. Have a wonderful day full of adventures!

Spring is here,and summer is getting close (very close today it was 80 outside). My tulips have already bloomed, and the petals are starting to look a little pitiful. At least they lasted for a week. I bought myself some daisies yesterday, and they look beautiful. The flower lady on the square sold me a huge bunch of them for only $3. Today I watched a sparrow stuff a piece of cotton into it's beak, and fly off. New nests are being built and new life is being formed all around us.

I don't know what I am doing from one day to another. My life is linked to so many people. Sometimes I wish that I could change things, and others...but of course I know you can't change people. I am so thankful that I have my pets. They always love me and they always know how to make me feel loved. They don't judge me, criticize me, or put me down. They appreciate me just for being me. Often I would much rather deal with animals than people.
